NeCCESS 20 Hour Course Curriculum

1. ADULT LEARNER WORKFORCE SERVICES

 

Created to provide a welcoming environment for individuals to explore resources to help them become gainfully employed. NeCCESS is an initiative of the Olivet Housing and Community Development Corporation in partnership with Cuyahoga Community College that enhances the well-being of families by building economic self-sufficiency and community capacity through and coordinating services and engaging families. 

Our specific wrap-around services are:

  • Resume writing and interviewing skills:

    • building an effective and competitive resume

    • practical interviewing tips

    • learning the art of communication (for interviewing)

2. WORK LIFE SOLUTIONS: TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENCE

 

Work to engage individuals with services and systems that support growth and development for individuals who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, human services and education. Behavioral health services include mental health and substance abuse services.

  • A Variety of Work Life Balance Workshops includes the following:

    • Maximizing Workplace Communication: learning to effectively communicate with colleagues and management

    • Balancing Work and Family

      • Proper prioritizing for a healthy work/life balance

      • Time Management/Organization

Provide technical assistance resources that focus on improving practices, systems, and outcomes for transition into the workforce

Provide enriched training and customized consultation to achieve high and sustainable work practices and ethics.

3. SELF HELP PROGRAMS/SERVICES

 

Our vision is a world where individuals are respected for their experience and given the tools and supports their need to succeed. We empower individuals to be equal partners in the processes that impact them and offer support and guidance mental wellness, positive support and healthy transition to empower individuals to advocate for themselves and live healthy, meaningful lives.

4. HEALTHY LIFESTYLES

 

The site gives student learners reliable, useful information on the health issues and tips on handling relationships with family and friends, at school and at home. (Physical, emotional, mental, spiritual – wholistic)
